Day 14 of 31 Days to Freedom in Your Business

Don’t Carry Credit Card Debt.

I mean, you already know this.  But, either you can pay for it or it can be capitalized over many years (& therefore could be financed).

I’m not suggesting that you need to pay cash for a forklift.  I’m suggesting that you shouldn’t be working to pay for March’s latte in June.  You can finance that forklift because it is (potentially) an actual profit producing capital expenditure.  That latte, even if it is with your best customer, is not.

Don’t spend money you don’t have.  There is nothing that will destroy long term profitability like carrying credit card debt (or any sort of short term liability).

In football terms, you can’t train to win games after the season.  You have to earn your wins with the work you put in before you take the field.
